Fully Qualified and Ready to Mingle…

As of quite recently, I have now completed my photography degree. The past few years have been a big learning journey for me; I have discovered so many things about the type of photographer I want to be and which areas I enjoy over others. I will predominantly always be the photographer who wants everyday to be different. I spent many years sat behind a desk in a busy office and I am now keen to try new things and to get fully stuck into my business; and grow as a freelance photographer. My website has had a slight overhaul….and my prices may have appeared in some areas, but I will always try to be as affordable as possible whilst still providing excellent service.

I love capturing moments; whether it be at a community run festival, portrait session or a wedding; I love to capture all of those moments. My work does not feel like a job, it is my passion.

My final project at university saw me work with some amazing people around the subject of grief. It is always a subject very close to my heart, and I wanted to create a conversation with other people, so that we could share our experiences. I spoke to 16 people, gathered their stories and collated what they told me into a book, filled with their portraits. This collection of stories was both rewarding and heartbreaking to listen to, but I wanted to share that we are not alone. We became a collective voice; and the exhibit was a huge success, with many coming to tell me how it had impacted them. Each portrait of those who participated were hung within an enclosed space; suspended freely, allowing soft movement and quiet contemplation.

Just like that I am done……I have been steadily working towards my degree since 2020…..and I have finally got here. I would like to say that I can start believing in my work a little now, but I would be lying a little. All I know is that I have grown in confidence now. And I feel more capable with carrying out jobs.

My next steps is to start making connections and get myself out there. I have been working with local councils, and festivals in Stafford; creating connections, building those relationships and keeping my name on the tips of everyones tongues….hopefully :D
